I am Gari Grosar from Slovenia and my biggest passion in life is chess. I hold the title of FIDE Instructor ( https://ratings.fide.com/profile/14607891 ) and have a Master's Degree in Pedagogy. Currently I am employed as a full-time chess coach in Suzhou, China.
There are many strong chess coaches out there but most of them lack that pedagogy part. It is not just about the knowledge you possess but how well you can share it with your students. I think this is where I come in. My lessons are passionate, energetic and I am also very patient and can crack some jokes from time to time which certainly helps when teaching kids. I am also very ambitious as I am always finding new ways of making chess more fun and instructive at the same time.
My general approach with students is: Firstly, analysing their games since learning from our past mistakes is the best way to improve. Secondly I try my best to give students the necessary knowledge on all 6 areas of the game (opening, tactics, calculation of variations, strategy, positional play and the endgame). My goal in general is to make sure students really understand their moves and that each move should have its purpose as well as to make them think and slow down and not to blitz out the moves.

Now, let the feedback from my student's parents from China speak for itself (hope you know Chinese):
