The 2021-22 season of the 20/20 Championship League hosted on and sponsored by Chess.com begins September 19!

This extremely popular live rapid team event has featured nearly 200 teams from around the world since it was launched online. Teams include schools such as Oxford University and Harvard, chess clubs like the Marshall Chess Club, and international sides including Trinidad & Tobago, Cape Verde, and Fiji. Last season was won by Club Politika, which you can read more about here.

Dozens of titled players participate. Notable players include GM Andrew Tang, GM Suat Atalik, GM Simen Agdestein (former coach of world #1 GM Magnus Carlsen), and 2021 British Champion GM Keith Arkell.

Selected matches will be broadcast on Chess TV through Chess.com, which gets hundreds of thousands of viewers every month. The broadcast of the 2020-21 finals can be seen below.

The Championship League is completely free to enter, while also fundraising for charity and offering monetary prizes, including $3000 for first place thanks to Chess.com and other sponsors such as Chess & Bridge and ChessKidsNation.
