Hikaru Nakamura Wins Unive 2012
Hikaru Nakamura finished a comfortable winner of the Crown Group at the 2012 Unive Tournament in Hoogeveen, Netherlands with a final score of 4½/6.
Already leading by a point at the halfway mark, the American champion defeated his nearest rival Sergei Tiviakov in the final round to seal victory.
That meant that Nakamura won all three of his games with the white pieces, and drew all three with black to finish undefeated.
In fact, the only decisive game that didn't involve the winner was Sergei Tiviakov's win against women's world champion Hou Yifan in round four which proved to be enough for second place.
