So, I had an idea that might help to keep the scenario on track. (James, if you object to this, then I'll delete the thread.)

I realized that what made the previous forum thread go off the rails was that people wanted to explore their characters and delve into the interactions between them. This resulted in the main story getting clogged up or buried or ignored or whatever. But trying to tell them to stop doing the character interactions would be futile.

My idea was that we could use this forum for character interactions, thereby separating the roleplay from the mission. This way, everyone could have the fun of playing with their characters, and yet the original mission would stay right where it belongs in the main forum and remain undisturbed by any roleplaying we might do.

The way this would work it basically, once there's a break in the main forum (like if James isn't online and we don't have any orders at the moment) and we want our characters to chat, we would come over to this forum, say something along the lines of "This stuff happens after comment #33 in the other forum," and then make our conversations.

What do you guys think? I think that it'll make the entire club run smoother.
