It's been quite a few days before I wrote something here but here we go, today I'm gonna share with you one of my daily games which I played around 3 months ago with a 1500 who replied to me by Grob opening

I was black(Obviously) and was surprised to see such an opening at this high level. But soon I realized that it was not that easy. This damn opening played thousands of tricks at same time that I am sure had it been a timed game I would have lost easily. First of all notice that snide pawn sacrifice on move 3. and then this.....

Starting with d4 and playing usual moves(which I found nice) I ended up on this position where I had 2 choices. Save d5 pawn or b7 pawn. But you will realise that there is no possible way to save your b7 pawn except moving your b pawn to b6. But this would lead to lot of complications by bishop taking d5 pawn and putting pressure on b7 and f7(which was dangerous). SO I moved with knight to protect d5 pawn.

He started putting more pressure on d5 instead of taking my b6 pawn(idk why) and i continued my defensive play. And eventually won on time.

But the main thing is if he had taken on b6 at this postion

according to analysis I would still be winning. which is quite interesting. Following the nbd7 and bxd5

rb8 creates pressure on queen and eventually prevents its protecting of bishop.

Before this match I considered Grob a very bad opening but it has some tricks of its own which is worth considering. So I hope you would look into the opening and notice the sutble dangers this opening posess which would help you to win against any grob player easily.
